About the Court

The Municipal Court prides itself on the administration of Quality Service, Fairness, and Integrity. Practice and procedures of the municipal court are governed by the New Jersey Court Rules. West Deptford Township Municipal Court is one of 537 municipal courts in the state of New Jersey. The Court’s main function is to accept complaints for filing: including criminal, local ordinance and traffic violations. A municipal court generally hears cases only from the city or community in which it is located. These complaints may be filed by Divisions of Law Enforcement, Municipal Officials, Officers of State and County Agencies, and Citizens. Some criminal charges, due to seriousness of the charge, may be referred to the Superior Court to be heard. If you intend to file a complaint, please contact the court office. Upon contacting the court, please have available the name and the statute number you would like to charge the person with. If you wish to file a complaint for a traffic violation, most commonly the police department can assist you in doing so and can be contacted at 856.845.4004 extension 157.
