West Deptford Historical Association

West Deptford Historical Association

The West Deptford Historical Association was started in January 2001 with a mission to preserve the history of our township. With the cooperation of the West Deptford Free Public Library, the Historical Association has dedicated itself to displaying the past of our great community and making it available to our residents.

Popular displays in the historical Association’s showcase in the library have included Soupy Island, local churches, Washington Park on the Delaware, Emergency Services, Black History Awareness, Township Schools and the well-received gallery exhibit Wedding Gowns from the Past. We are constantly updating our information and displays and look forward to hearing from residents who wish to share items and information such as pictures, letters, documents, clothing, furniture, tools, deeds, stories or anything else that tells the story of the building of our township.

Meetings are held bimonthly the second Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the library. New members are welcome. For more information, please contact April Maska at 856.845.1205 or the library’s informational desk at 856.845.5593.
